WHAT AN ABSOLUTE SHIT PUMPING. THE BOSTON CELTICS DO NOT LOSE TWO GAMES IN A ROW. NOT NOW. NOT EVER. I ACTUALLY THOUGHT OF STARTING THIS BLOG NOT YELLING AND FINALLY NOT TYPING IN ALL CAPS BUT FUCK THAT BECAUSE THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST EXPERIENCES OF MY ENTIRE LIFE. EVERYTHING ON THE LINE AFTER A BRUTAL COLLAPSE IN GAME 1. EVERYONE QUESTIONING IF THE MIAMI HEAT JUST OWN THE CELTICS MENTALLY. NOPE. SURE DON'T YOU KNOW WHY? BECAUSE THIS IS THE MOST RESILIENT BASKETBALL TEAM YOU WILL EVER FIND IN YOUR LIFE. WOULDN'T YOU KNOW HAVING MARCUS SMART AND AL HORFORD BACK IN THE LINEUP WOULD MAKE A MASSIVE DIFFERENCE. THE HEAT DON'T LOOK SO TOUGH WHEN THEY CAN'T HAVE COVID FIGHT ALL THEIR BATTLES NOW DO THEY. IF WE'RE BEING HONEST I'M A LITTLE EMBARRASSED THE HEAT BROKE 100. THE ENTIRE GOAL OF THIS TRIP WAS TO TAKE ONE OF THE FIRST TWO IN MIAMI AND IF YOU JUST PREVENT YOURSELF FROM REALIZING ONE BAD QUARTER IS WHAT KEPT THEM FROM GOING 2-0 THEN YOU'LL BE ABLE TO ENJOY THIS MOMENT. I LOVE THIS TEAM. I LOVE IME. THEY DIDN'T COMPLAIN ON NO CALLS. THEY DIDN'T TURN THE BALL OVER. EVERYTHING WE HOPED THEY WOULD DO THEY DID AT A TIME WHEN WE NEEDED TO SEE IT. YOU CAN'T FALL DOWN 2-0 AGAINST THE HEAT SINCE THEY'VE NEVER LOST A SERIES UP 2-0 SO CRISIS AVERTED THERE. DID I MENTION I LOVE THIS TEAM?

WE LOVE AND TRUST FOR A REASON. YOU JUST WATCHED IT. NOT SURE HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE TO TELL YOU THAT MARCUS SMART IS A FUCKING HERO BUT I'LL DO IT. MARCUS SMART IS A FUCKING HERO. TATUM AND BROWN SHOWED UP LIKE WE KNEW THEY WOULD. AL WAS GREAT. ROB WAS GREAT. EVERYONE WHO TOUCHED THE FLOOR WAS GREAT. THIS IS WHO THE CELTICS ARE AND ALL THEY DO IS KEEP SHOWING US. NOW PLEASE ALLOW ME TO COMPOSE MYSELF AND ENJOY MARCUS SMART MAKING SOMEONE TOUCH EARTH

Massive massive massive massive win. No other way to say it. After how Game 1 unfolded, they needed a response like this. After a slow start, this shit was never in doubt. A complete and total ass kicking like you read about. Celts are now 5-2 on the road in these playoffs which seems pretty good. I'll remind you they have the best road playoff differential basically in NBA history so that shouldn't surprise you. Turns out having the best defense on the planet travels, who knew? We did. We knew. Sure there were morons out there that didn't think Marcus Smart mattered. That having the DPOY wouldn't make a difference. As they so often are, they were wrong. Turns out having the best defenders on the court helps your defense. What a wild concept!

This response is about more than the final score. It's about more than the win. It's about how they did it. They were flawless. The defense got back to making life hell for everyone, offensively they moved the ball and were rewarded with rather insane shooting. We heard all Bucks series that their shooting wouldn't be sustainable yet…..it keeps happening. Most importantly they barely turned the ball over, making the Heat beat them in the halfcourt. That offense is nowhere NEAR good enough for that shit. The Celts got back to switching and not playing as much drop, because they had the talent available to do so. What we watched was what happens when this team plays to their potential. When that happens, they are the best team on the planet. That is fact not opinion so go cry about it.

Also, did everyone notice how nobody really complained? From Tatum to Grant to Smart to Jaylen, nobody did any of that bullshit that drives us all insane. They just played. I even saw Grant check himself mid-complain and stop instantly. Crazy how much more composed they looked tonight right? When the Heat went on that mini run in the third to get it under 20, what did they do? Did they spend more time complaining and then make mental errors to let things get out of hand? No. They played. They locked in and immediately punched back to get the lead back to 25. That's the exact type of resliency we all wanted to see from this team given how easily the Heat get in their heads. Sure having a huge lead probably plays a factor in that, but how do you think they got it? They didn't focus on the bullshit, they focused on execution on both ends. When they do that, the Celts are as elite as it comes.

Now we ride this momentum wave all the way back to the Garden on Saturday. Celts did their job, they snagged momentum, and they showed what can happen when they decide to not play like assholes. Turns out that team is pretty fucking good.

We'll regroup in the morning. Enjoy this. 3 more wins to go for a spot in the Finals. All you had to do is win at home and you're there. Love and trust
