Nick Saban Had Some WILD Comments About NIL, Saying Texas A&M 'Bought Every Player' and Jackson State Paid $1 Million for Travis Hunter

Holy hell, there is a lot to unpack from the comments Nick Saban made on Wednesday night at an event in Birmingham.

The Alabama head coach has made no secret of his opposition to NIL and its impacts on college football recently — this is the same guy who bragged about Bryce Young getting $1 million in NIL deals before he ever started a game last year, but I digress. On Wednesday, he just came right out and said everything that was on his mind, taking direct shots at Jimbo Fisher and Deion Sanders. I guess let's talk about the comment that has some truth and then dissect the wild conspiracy theory.

What Saban said about A&M isn't necessarily wrong as much as it is wildly hypocritical. Yeah, Texas A&M did use the immense resources it has to legally give out NIL deals to enough good recruits to land the No. 1 class in the country. That's the way this works now.

Saban, conversely, has been giving out duffel bags full of cash illegally for decades and now that other programs are able to spend right there with him, he wants to get on his high horse and cry foul. I know nobody in the mainstream media wants to come right out and say Saban is full of shit — particularly those who work at companies with college football rights deals — but the amount of people letting him get away with this nonsense is insane. The biggest cheater to ever live is mad that other coaches are now thriving within the rules.

Then we get to the other wild quote Saban had, where he just came right out and regurgitated a Florida State message board conspiracy theory as a fact. Saban apparently believes literally anything he reads on the internet, so I'd love to really sit him down and see what other crazy shit has made its way into his brain.

Coach Prime seemed none too pleased with Saban's comments.

I hope Sanders and Fisher go scorched Earth on this guy. It's high time somebody does something about Saban running around saying whatever he wants with impunity while he's been cheating his ass off for the last two decades.

If nothing else, the SEC Spring Meetings just became appointment viewing.
