Micah Hyde Of The Buffalo Bills Is A Some Things Are Bigger Than Sports Guy

TMZ - Bills safety Micah Hyde is helping the Buffalo community after a mass shooting left 10 people dead and three others injured … by committing to donate proceeds from his charity softball game over the weekend.

Hyde, a member of the Bills' org. for five seasons, had originally planned to host the softball game at Sahlen Field -- the Buffalo Bisons' minor league stadium -- to benefit his Imagine for Youth Foundation. 

Before the game, Hyde's org. received a $200,000 check from the event's sponsors … and he announced a portion of those proceeds would go to victims' families.

 

Over the weekend, a horrific shooting took place in Buffalo at a Tops Supermarket . It clearly affected the community and its residents. Bills Safety Micah Hyde had a charity softball game planned. He considering cancelling it, but ultimately held it. The sponsors of the game wrote out a $200,000 check - a portion of which would go to the victims family. 

 

Bills QB Josh Allen was extremely emotional in his interview as well. 

The Buffalo Bills have announced they would meet today as a team to discuss how to help those affected. 

It's a horrific tragedy but it was a great thing Micah Hyde did to assist the families affected. It's a reminder that athletes despite their constant ridicule can be very humble, and step up in spots where they are needed most. Proving once again, some things are bigger than sports.
