Larry Bird's Reaction To Learning About The New Larry Bird Trophy Is Exactly What I Needed To See Today

Big personal update here. I can still feel joy. Talk about an upset of the century given how the last 16 or whatever hours have been in my life. You know how when people are sad they watch puppy or cat videos to cheer them up? That is what seeing Larry Bird smile and laugh does for me right now. Instant mood booster. Throwing some shade towards Magic doesn't hurt either. I love that their rivalry still exists all these years later. Sure there's respect there, but deep down Larry Bird hates Magic's guts, and I for one respect that.

If you missed the news this morning, the NBA decided to create some updates to their awards

I don't mind the updated look of the existing trophies. The solid gold look was cool and obviously a classic, but I don't hate the ball/net design. Am I someone who was looking for the ECF/WCF to have an MVP award? Not really. Much like everyone else, I was just sort of used to the Finals being the only thing that had an MVP. You get a trophy for a Conference Title so I get it, and I'll never object to anything that glorifies this man

so I say why the hell not. If I had my preference, the first player to win the Larry Bird trophy will be a Celtic. Listen, I'm trying to speak it into existence OK? Don't be mean. I'm literally trying everything I can think of given what happened last night. I wish I didn't have to but this is the reality of the situation. It can be Jaylen, Tatum, Horford, I don't give a shit I just need one of them to find a way to pull this thing out and take home that hardware.

At the end of the day, I saw that video above and it brought me 2 seconds of joy so I figured there might be fellow Celts stoolies out there that needed a little pick me up. Plus it was an excuse for me to embed my favorite video on the internet, so really this is a win/win for everyone involved.

Now if you'll excuse me I would like to go back to freaking the fuck out over Game 6. Thank you for your time.
