CHAOS IN LOS ANGELES: REID DETMERS THROWS NO-HITTER, ANTHONY RENDON HOMERS LEFTY, AND MIKE TROUT RUNS A TRAIN ON TAMPA BAY

Holy smokes. I bet the Rays today on Hot Ice and couldn't look any worse. Turns out Reid Detmers does not throw center cut batting practice like my simulations predicted. Turns out I should've stood by my guy from Chatham Glenwood, home of Jayson Werth and some of the finest baseball in Central Illinois. Reid Detmers, welcome to the big leagues.

It's his 11th start since going in the 1st round of of Lousiville in 2020. He struck out 108 in 62 AA/AAA innings last year. That's 108 in 62 innings then he struggled in the big leagues over a couple starts. He's back in the rotation now and apparently settled in which is fucking awesome to see at 22 years old. The game needs as much young left handed pitching as the mothers of this great country are willing to birth. There's no amount of Reid Detmers in the world that will be too much.

And against a dominant RHH lineup no less. What a fucking champ.

And to go over 100 pitches? You get an extra juice box these days for such Herculean efforts. Suck it dry my friend.

Also worth nothing Anthony Rendon hit a bomb left handed. A tremendous accomplishment that I'd celebrate, but Anthony Rendon doesn't want me to. That's because Anthony Rendon doesn't care. If anything he's probably disappointed that it went so well. The most bored player (not boring player, I mean bored) in my lifetime just wants to feel normal.

I don't even see a smile? Maybe a grin at the very best? He just sprints around the bases with his head down. Basically the perfect baseball player in the eyes of every college baseball coach at every college level. ON AND OFF THE FIELD LADIES ON THE HOP LETS GO

Anyways crazy fucking game. We'll break it down on Thursday morning's Starting 9. Subscribe to the YouTube for Jake Arrieta's take on throwing a no-hitter. How about that for a podcast promo.
