Tom Felton Claims That Playing Draco Malfoy "Didn't Make Him Popular With Girls" And I Beg To Differ

Tom Felton wasn't always a heartthrob.

The Harry Potter alum, 34, revealed in an interview with The Guardian published Sunday that, despite his rise to fame in the Wizarding World franchise, he wasn't scoring many dates at school.

"Some people really struggle with the idea that I wasn't this special, popular kid, but I was walking around with dyed hair and played an evil wizard. It wasn't cool. It did me no favors with the girls," Felton — who made his West End debut Saturday in 2:22 A Ghost Story at the Criterion Theatre — shared.

Felton starred as Draco Malfoy — the blonde-haired, villainous Slytherin student — in all eight Harry Potter movies, based on the novels by J.K. Rowling.

I'm calling bullshit. After years and years of experience, being a girl, being interested in men, understanding what attracts women - Tom Felton is going to sit here and pretend that GIRLS DON'T LIKE A BAD BOY? Sure, it's tough to walk into the 4th grade with bleach blonde hair, but the arrogance? The false confidence? The general air of "I'm better than you"? We're going 3/3 on Fuckboy Qualities that I feel very equipped to announce that: girls are attracted to. Stupid girls, yes. Insecure girls, sure. Me, definitely. But NO ONE? Tom, Tom, Tom. There's just no way this can be true. I'm willing to bet my life that these girls were just too intimidated to come up to you. The fear of rejection was too strong, they knew it would break them. Only as we get older are we more honest and forgiving of our less-than-desirable attractions, and that's why you weren't a proven "heartthrob" until much later in life. I promise you, in this blog, that you were ALWAYS in our hearts, Draco.
