Jack Harlow Had A Fuckin DAY At The Derby Yesterday

Lexington Herald - The Kentucky Derby was back to full capacity for the first time since 2019 and one celebrity shined the brightest on the red carpet: a 24-year-old, Grammy-nominated rapper from Louisville.

Jack Harlow got the loudest screams from fans that lined the red carpet at Churchill Downs. The rapper was at the track to make the “Riders Up!” call, the indicator for jockeys to mount their horses ahead of the big race.

He playfully told the crowd his horse for the Run for Roses was Happy Jack, a nod to the shared name between the two.

No big deal. Mantis’ boy, Louiseville’s finest Jack Harlow dropped a new album, a new song with none other than Drake aptly titled “Churchill Downs”

And then stepped onto the the hallowed grounds yesterday afternoon with a bus load of his best friends (who he took suit shopping, and footed the whole bill for their threads, and tickets), and also got Drake to show up and film live for their music video.

And he got Drizzy cocked off of too many mint juleps (a cocktail for my idiot BS Chicago buddies).

You can say the song is trash (change your diaper, it’s not) but aside from collabing for a heater with arguably one of the top 3 rappers in the game right now Jack here is a genus for another reason.

Getting Drake on a song named “Churchill Downs” just ensured Jack here is VVIP at the Derby every year from here on out. Even if he falls off (he won’t) he created the place’s namesake song. He’s like the relief pitcher who had a cup of coffee in the bigs but won a ring for a city that can’t count many and this eats free at every joint in town to this day.

Brilliant move.

Jack has come a wicked long way in the past couple years.

p.s.- Taylor Rooks is D1 all day
