[NCAA] - Today, NCAA Board of Governors Chair John J. DeGioia announced by mutual agreement with the board that Mark Emmert will be stepping down as president of the NCAA.  He will continue to serve in his role until a new president is selected and in place or until June 30, 2023.

Holy shit yes. I can't believe we're getting rid of Mark Emmert finally. The least shocking thing is the farewell tour. I actually hope he does it. Just be the biggest egomaniac. Everyone hates this dude because he's delusional, out of touch, makes terrible decisions. Actually, sounds like another person with a farewell tour. So it's fitting.

Here's what I truly love. The quote here:

"Throughout my tenure I've emphasized the need to focus on the experience and priorities of student-athletes," said Emmert.  "I am extremely proud of the work of the Association over the last 12 years and especially pleased with the hard work and dedication of the national office staff here in Indianapolis."

Oh yeah dude, great job with focusing on the priorities of student-athletes. Just some reminder of him focusing on the priorities here:

Bang up job on focusing on the student-athlete. Remember, it was the government that basically forced NIL to happen. Dude couldn't even say 'Kansas Jayhawks' correct while giving them the title earlier this month. But yeah, phenomenal job all around. It's almost impressive to be as universally disliked as this dude.

Now here's the problem. Emmert's job was to take heat for all the schools. But he refused to do anything correct after that. So yeah he was awesome at being hated with no redeeming qualities outside of that. Either way, I can't believe he's 'stepping down.' Dude had a contract in place through 2025 and getting cut short.

Yes, I will be willing to throw my name into the hat and run this thing correctly.
