The World Deserves Another Battle Of Florida In The Stanley Cup Playoffs Already

As things stand right now, it'll be the Tampa Bay Lightning vs Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round of the playoffs. Which is perfect because the Leafs never show up in the playoffs any way, so the 2x defending champs will likely move on while the Leafs focus more on Bieber designing their jerseys than any sort of sustained postseason success.

And waiting for the Lightning in the 2nd round will be the Florida Panthers, who will most likely have made quick work out of a banged up Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals. What can we expect for 7 games out of the Cats and the Bolts?

Just a few fisticuffs here and there. Something light. For the kids.

Obviously we already got a playoff series between the two teams last year that had its fair share of greasy action.

Then the two teams decided to try to beat the wheels off of each other in the preseason earlier in the year.

And now with just a week left in the regular season and both teams already with their playoff spots locked up, they're still trying to beat the brakes off of each other. The state of Florida just ain't big enough for these two teams and they're going to attempted murder each other until there is only one left standing. The Cats are a wagon. The Lightning are your 2x defending champs. They hate the shit out of each other. Gary Bettman needs to do everything in his power to make sure we get an annual 7-game series going here.

P.S. -- I'm so happy for Claude, and will be even happier for my captain in June.
