How do you like them apples!! That's right, we're getting Matt Damon and Ben Affleck back together for another movie!

The dynamic duo from Boston who won Oscars for writing and starring in Good Will Hunting in their 20s are back at it again. Affleck and Damon are both massive sports fans, so it'll be fascinating to see what they bring to this story. They're actually reworking an existing script originally penned by Alex Convery. This will mark Affleck's fourth directorial feature, following Gone Baby Gone, The Town, Best Picture winner Argo, and Live By Night.

Damon's character is ex-Nike exec Sonny Vaccaro, who changed the entire game of the sneaker industry by signing Michael Jordan to an endorsement deal in 1984, which was for $250,000 upfront and led to the creation of MJ's own line of shoes, the Air Jordans. Affleck is playing Nike co-founder Phil Knight, who obviously had a hand in recruiting Jordan to join the brand.

Good Will Hunting released in 1997, and Damon and Affleck went their separate ways in the industry for the most part. They finally collaborated again in earnest this past year on The Last Duel. It was an extremely intense Ridley Scott-directed drama that they co-wrote with Nicole Holofcener. Even with Batman, Jason Bourne, Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and breakout star Jodie Comer in the cast, it bombed at the box office, grossing only $30.6 million against a $100 million budget. Let's hope ticket sales are kinder to this latest Affleck-Damon effort, because The Last Duel, while a difficult watch, was a fantastic movie.

Then again, it's unclear whether or not this project will go straight to streaming, because according to the THR report, Amazon Studios and Skydance Sports will facilitate the production. Skydance Sports was responsible in part for the MJ-focused documentary The Last Dance that ultimately builds toward Jordan's final season and sixth championship with the Chicago Bulls.

In any event, with the buzz surrounding HBO's hit series Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, I'm so down to see another iconic NBA story…AND ALSO, who the hell are they gonna get to play Michael Jordan!? I'm assuming he'll be in this. I don't know how you'd tell the story without his character. I also don't know who could pull off MJ's blend of charisma, competitiveness and bear a resemblance to him. Can't wait to hear the news on that casting front!

LET'S GET IT! And I can't write the headline that I did without paying it off…
