Gerrit Cole Records The Shortest Start Of His Career And Is A Fucking Joke Right Now

No two ways about it, Gerrit Cole is a fucking joke right now. After two un-ace like starts to begin the season that bum took the mound in Detroit tonight and didn't get through two innings of work. Despite striking out the side in the first, you could make the argument that Cole's 2nd inning was the worst of his career. The Yankees starting pitcher walked four in the inning, including three straight to the 7-8-9 hitters of the DETROIT TIGERS lineup. Cole couldn't put away the scrubs of the Tigers order and it resulted in the most pitches he's ever thrown in a single frame as well as the shortest outing of his career. The five total walks also tied his career high. Spotted a three run lead and pulls that shit. Embarrassing.

The final stat line reads: 1.2 IP | 1h | 2 ER | 5 BB | 3k | 68 pitches | 37 strikes

And don't let the 2 runs deceive you, if not for Clarke Schmidt that would look a hell of a lot worse. Clarke pitched his fucking ass off tonight in relief of Cole and bridged the gap to the pen. 

So what's the excuse going to be tonight? The half inning prior went too long because the Tigers' pitcher got hurt? It was too cold? No, I don't wanna hear any of that shit. You're pitching like a straight up fraud at the moment. Boy I can't wait for him to talk to the media once this game is over.

Coming into this year fresh off his disaster Wild Card start (hurt or not) you can't pitch like this when you're getting paid the amount you are. Honestly he should take the money he's getting paid per start and divide it between Nestor, Sevy, Monty, and Jamo because they're really carrying the load here while he stinks up the joint. 

And sure you can laugh and mock me for that absurd video I made when Cole signed with the Yankees, but there wasn't one Yankee fan out of there who didn't feel that way. No one was calling this a bad move. No one hated the signing. The Yankees went out and signed the best pitcher on the free agent market during a time when they desperately needed a true ace. Right now it feels like they got conned in the worst of ways. 

Maybe things will change, but for now Gerrit Cole isn't the ace of this pitching staff. In fact, he's probably their number 5 pitcher at this rate at least in ways you can trust someone. You can't tell me you have more faith in him over a guy like Nestor or Sevy. Even Jamo and Monty are more consistent than him.
