Watching Marcus Smart Find Out About His DPOY Award Is One Of The Best Things I've Ever Seen

Safe to say, I love this shit. Gary Payton in the house to present Marcus with the DPOY was next level and the absolute perfect touch. It's not like he's doing anything else so I'm glad he was able to make the trip to the facility. He had a little bit of trouble getting the words out but whatever man it's Gary Payton and Gary Payton is a legend. When they started chanting "now there's two of us!" I think I pulled a cheek muscle smiling so hard. Then Smart starts his speech, immediately shouts out Tatum and Brown and then the emotions hit. We as Celts fans know what a journey this has been over these last 8 years. We know what Smart means to this team, this franchise and their success which is why a video like this is so great to see. I always wonder what it's like when the players find out this sort of thing, and since Smart's public vote lead was so insane I wonder how much of this is even a surprise but knowing it's official has to be the best feeling in the world. This is the sort of behind the scenes access I crave. Especially with everything that's gone on in the last 24 hours. 

I mean think of the Celtics high we are all riding right now. This is getting a little out of hand. Think of how different this team has made you feel since 12/31. It's a feeling I haven't been able to have in easily 14 years. The turnaround, then the Game 1 win, now the Smart DPOY. It feels like fate. I dunno, I'm drunk as shit off Celts Kool Aid right now but how could you blame me? It's not all that often that my favorite team has this many good things happen to it all at once. It's a bit overwhelming if we're being honest but at the same time I am not addicted to it. I need more. Give me Game 2 next please if I could make a request. That'd be pretty cool in my humble opinion.
