The Browns Just Made Denzel Ward The Highest Paid Cornerback In NFL History

BOOOOOM! Locked up The Warden through 2027. A local legend, from his high school days in northeast Ohio, to Ohio State for college, to being a 1st round draft pick by the hometown Browns. This makes me very happy. Already a 2x Pro-Bowler at only 24 years old, and now he's ours for the next 6 seasons. The prime of his career. This is a massive Win for the Cleveland Browns. And to the people saying this was a massive overpay for a corner, I have 4 words for you: "In Andrew Berry I Trust"

I'm riding with this guy until he gives me a reason not to. You want to throw Baker Mayfield out on the curb and bring in Deshaun Watson and his 22 civil suits? I'm all in. You want to make an injury prone cornerback the highest paid in league history? Sign me up. Andrew Berry, for the first time in my lifetime, appears to have a working brain in the Browns front office. We now have longterm contracts for Deshaun Watson, Nick Chubb, Denzel Ward, Wyatt Teller, and Joel Bitonio. Find me a team in the NFL better positioned to win right now and for the long-term future than the Cleveland Browns. In Andrew Berry I trust.

And you know who else I'm riding with? Browns owner Jimmy Haslam. Say what you want about him, one thing you can't say about him is that he isn't willing to open up his pocket book. You know the rest of the NFL owners are sick of his shit. I know the Ravens owner was cranky because he went down a slippery slope with the Watson deal being fully guaranteed. Cry me a river, buddy. You want guys to come to Cleveland? You gotta pay them. And now, if you want an elite cornerback in this league, you gotta pay them too. $100 million to Denzel Ward. Some people saying no cornerback is worth $100 million. Well, they are now...

Oh, and a third person I'm riding with is Denzel Ward:

Through 4 seasons: 50 passes defended, 10 INTs, and 2 Pro Bowls. Oh and he took Joe Burrow 99 yards back to the house last year, holding Jamar Chase to 6 catches for 48 yards and no scores. We'll take that for the next 6 seasons.

Well, this is the 3rd straight season of being the Browns being Off-Season Champions. Hopefully one of these days that translates into Super Bowl Champions....
