Confession: The Only Thing I’m Cheering For In The NBA Playoffs Is A Chris Paul Fuck You Revenge Tour

Fuck it, I'll just put it bluntly. I'm a Chris Paul guy. Always have been, always will be. Back from the days at Wake to the nut punches to the dirty plays to people claiming he's a failure somehow. That's why the only thing I'm truly cheering for this year in the playoffs is a true fuck you revenge tour by him. He had a 2-0 lead in the Finals last year before Giannis just hit a completely different gear and remembered he's the best player in the world. 

So give me a little 30/10/7 game 1. Give me 19 in the 4th. Chris Paul is one of the greatest point guards to ever play this game. I still can't believe he lost to a Mike Gansey/Kevin Pittsnoggle team in college but that's besides the point. This is getting people to stop doing the 'yeah, but' with Chris Paul. He was stuck on a shitty New Orleans team. Then obviously the whole Clippers/Rockets saga. But the fact is he's always been awesome. Some injuries? Sure. Bad games? A few. But to say he's the reason his team never won a Finals was always asinine. 

Remember last year Paul missed part of the WCF with a positive COVID test. Then he had the injury and looked differently in the Finals. Just give me one year of a healthy Chris Paul and a fuck you tour. I don't have the Knicks left. Give me a guy I want to see win. There's not much else. Celtics/Nets? Hard pass on cheering for someone there. Bucks had their time and Giannis is sweet, but we saw that already. I just want to watch Chris Paul win when it matters.
