We All Need To Stop Giving A Shit About Teams And Fans Going Wild Celebrating After A Win

So I saw a bunch of tweets last night and this morning talking about how the Wolves celebrated beating the Clippers last night. In case you missed it, here are some examples: 

I gotta say Big Cat - and as much as I hate to admit this - JJ Redick are right. Who gives a shit? Each team is different. Each win is different. For the Wolves, simply making the playoffs deserves to be celebrated. This is a team that made playoffs once the last 17 years before this. Do you know how bad you have to be for that to happen? So yeah they are going to act insane after getting there when they weren't even close to being predicted to be here. 

Goes across all sports and teams. Sure it leads to mocking but that's all sports. We screamed Bing Bong for winning a game. Fuck it, it was awesome. Wolves fans and players going nuts for winning the play-in game is awesome. It's a one game scenario where if you win you're in. 

This goes across all sports too. Obviously Alabama football fans are going to celebrate a win over a top-25 team different than Vandy. I know, good one thinking Vandy would win a game let alone a top-25 team. But you get the point. Each ride is different. I've been cursed as an O's fan. The 2012 ride winning the Wild Card game is one of my most fun baseball seasons and really sports seasons ever. It didn't result in a championship, shit not even winning the division. But who cares? 

Big Cat put it perfectly saying it's about the ride. I get the whole winning a title thing. I live that as a Kentucky fan. Every season feels like a failure if there's not a title. Same goes for the likes of Duke, Kansas, UNC, etc. Same goes for Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers. Keep filling in the blanks of what teams and you get the picture. But what about everyone else? I'm going to lose my shit if and when the Knicks win a playoff series. The Birds make the World Series and I might be shirtless for all of October. I hope Cedric Mullins joins me in that. 

The solution here is simple. Don't like the Wolves celebrating, don't let them win.
