Hunter Greene Showed Us That He Really Is A Flame Thrower And Put On A Damn Show In His Much Anticipated Reds Debut

Happy Greene Day everyone! We saw Hunter Greene make his long awaited MLB debut last night and he did not disappoint. We were promised 100+ MPH fastballs when he was drafted..well ask and you shall receive. \

Pretty cool to say Matt Olson was your first career K, and that the pitch was 100 on the dot. According to BaseballSavant.com Greene had the 56 fastest pitches of the game. That stat is flat-out funny. He had 20 pitches over 100 MPH and 5 of them measured in at 101 or faster. The guy is an old fashioned flame thrower. First career start, first career win. 5 innings pitched, 4 hits, 3 runs, two walks, and 7 Ks. Not a bad outing at all, oh yeah, and it was against the Braves in their park. 6-3 Reds get the win behind Greene's fire.

I mean he was filthy today, 101 on the black for the K is as nasty as it gets. And you see his delivery, silky smooth. Not herky jerky, a very clean windup and delivery. Just nasty.

And then he can drop down and fool you with this. It's silly. He's going to be very, very good if he stays healthy. Cincinnati has a very good pitcher in Greene, I hope they can build around him.

All 7 of his Ks are here and they're so much fun to watch. Pinpoint placement with flamethrower speed, it's like you're playing MLB The Show, it's just not fair. I'm just happy he's finally healthy and we're watching him up there.

A cool postgame interview too with Greene, we saw him get emotional, get the water bucket dumped on him. Good for this kid, he seems like a great young man with a HUGE future ahead of him.

I'm a sucker for father interviews during debuts too, so of course Hunter Greene's dad was a wreck after his son's first outing. Good for them, what a wonderful moment for them. He's a star in the making, theres no doubt about that.

PS. Pretty cool that CC on hand to see Greene carve up the Braves.
