Kansas Completes The Biggest Comeback In Championship Game History - What A Bizarre, Weird, Fucking Awesome Game

This is one of those games that just didn't make sense but made all the sense in the world. Anyone who watches college hoops knows this is what college players do. They make dumb mistakes combined with awesome plays. That was in full effect tonight. And I mean full effect until the final whistle. First off, it was the largest comeback in title game history.

15 points was the 4th biggest margin for a halftime lead in title game history. It weirdly felt like UNC was going to comfortably win. Maybe not by double digits, but similar to what Kansas did against Villanova in the Final Four. You expected Kansas to start making layups, they were 4-for-12 at one point. But, UNC dominated the glass. They had Kansas in some foul trouble and you had everything clicking.

Until the second half started. It was a bunch of different players for Kansas too, which is why it's fitting they won the title. You had McCormack start the half with a dunk. You had Agbaji starting to attack and getting to the line. Christian Braun started attacking and Bill Self made a genius coaching move. He buried UNC's guards in the post. He put Braun in the post and attacked there. Jalen Wilson and Remy Martin hit big shots. 

Then the weirdness happened. You had Puff Johnson looking like an All-American before he started throwing up on the court. 

You had runs by both teams. You had Armando Bacot having to leave the game late after rolling his ankle. It was brutal to watch, knowing he was already banged up. 

Shit even after that - up 1 with under a minute to go Kansas pulled the ball out with a 5-on-4. Luckily they got a bucket going to McCormack after the timeout. Then weirdness happened again. UNC rushed some shots. Then DaJuan Harris stepped out of bounds. 

Why are you running that close to the sidelines on that inbound pass? I don't know, but Kansas was bailed out. Caleb Love had a chance for redemption and airmailed the final shot. 

So there it is. Bill Self gets his second title. Kansas gets its 4th title. They completed the biggest comeback in championship game history.
