The Padres Rotation Is Now LOADED After They Trade For Sean Manaea

Beware of the Padres rotation now, they've got names and stars all over. They pulled off a trade for one of the hottest names on the market and it didn't even take that much. Sean Manaea comes over from Oakland where they continue to do everything they can to piss off their fans. A 3.90 ERA in 32 starts last season with a 1.227 WHIP, not bad numbers at all. 194 Ks in 179.1 innings will play too, he barely walks anyone. Those numbers look like they could belong to a #1 starter, but not with this Padres team.

You kidding me with these names? They legit could roll out a 6 man rotation and throw a stud every time. Mike Clevinger is still working his way back from an injury and will start the season on the IL, but every other name on that list is a damn good pitcher. Yu Darvish has an insane amount of talent and can still be a damn good pitcher at 35. Blake Snell has a Cy Young under his belt and is hoping for a bounce back year, Joe Musgrove jumped onto the scene last year with his no-hitter, Manaea also has a no-no, Clev is another insanely talented arm, and Chris Paddack showed a lot of promise in 2019. 1-6 that rotation is really good. Obviously the key is if they stay healthy, and if they all can find their game again. Snell and a few others had down years last season, but if they can keep it together they may have a chance to compete with the Dodgers in the division. Oh by the way, they also have a guy named MacKenzie Gore who is the #6 left handed pitching prospect in baseball according to MLB.com. You can throw any of those guys on that list on the bump and have a damn good shot at a win.

And the fact that they didn't trade anyone of note is something. They were able to get a top pitching piece for 2 prospects, pitcher Adrian Martinez and infielder Euribiel Angeles. Neither of those guys were in the Padres top 10 prospect rankings, it's a steal for San Diego. These guys are locked and loaded. Will it be enough to keep pace with the Dodgers? Hopefully the Padres can keep up their part of the bargain this time and actually make it a fun race as opposed to pissing down their leg down the stretch.

BTW the Athletics just keep on shedding payroll while raising their ticket prices and threatening to move. What a move by this organization. Tough to be an A's fan currently.
