The Thing That Makes Connor McDavid So Good Is That He's Simply Better Than Anybody Else On The Planet At Playing Ice Hockey

For the 4th time in his NHL career, Connor McDavid is the first player in the league to hit the 100 point mark on the season. It's his 5th time putting up triple digit points at the ripe old age of 25. How many other guys in the history of the league have had that many 100-point seasons before turning 26?

Maybe you've heard some of those names before. If you haven't, you can take a quick trip up to Toronto and walk through the Hockey Hall of Fame where you'll see all of them. And what's sick is that McDavid should easily have 6 seasons with at least 100 points already but his 97 points in 64 regular season games in 2020 was cut short due Covid. No offense to The Great One or anything but Gretzky never once had to play during a global pandemic before. Also it's not too out of the realm of possibility to think McDavid could have put up 100 points in his rookie season had that prick Brandon Manning not fractured his collar bone and left him playing just 45 games that year. He still put up 48 points though. So you had an 18-year-old injured McJesus putting up over a point per game. Fully healthy? 100 is for sure in play. So in my mind he should be at 7 100-point seasons right now. And considering how easy this sport looks to him most of the time, he'll get to 100-points again by January 12th next season and join Wayno with 8.

All of this is to say that everybody involved in the management side of the Edmonton Oilers deserves to be in jail right now for the fact that Connor McDavid only has 7 total playoff game wins in his career so far. Not 7 series. 7 Games.

Good news for the Oilers, though, is if the season were to end today then they'd face the Kings in the first round of the playoffs. And if they face the Kings in the first round of the playoffs, well it's going to be a long 4 games for Johnathan Quick.

Kings in the 1st round. Battle of Alberta in the 2nd round. McDavid vs MacKinnon in the conference finals. And then the Oilers getting the shit kicked out of them by Claude Giroux and the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final. I need it like I need air to breath.
