How the fuck would Jim Carrey talking about Will Smith's actions on national day time television be considered "sensitive content"? That makes zero sense. ESPECIALLY when you consider what Jim Carrey was saying was 1000000% accurate. Or at least 10000% true up until he said that "Will Smith has something going on inside of him"…nobody knows what any other person is going through so that was a bit of a leap from Carrey. We all have something going on inside of us that drives our actions, positive or negative, but framing it that way took a bit away from his argument.
I am glad he said something and didn't let the host excuse Will Smith's behavior and blame Chris Rock for "building" to that moment. It did come out of nowhere even if it was driven by previous jokes from 6 years ago. There is definitely a "cool club" of Hollywood and the media that Jim Carrey apparently doesn't want any part of and people like you and me could never really have access to. If you want to shine a light on that all you have to do is watch people rush to defend Will Smith here and divert blame on to anyone and anything. They denounce violence everywhere except when it is done by people who they agree with and like. Should've been arrested on the spot because we live in a society and that society has laws which Smith broke when he committed assault publicly. Shouldn't matter if Rock didn't want to press charges. We all saw what happened. Make him squirm at least. Make him feel awkward.
