"It Is Entirely Possible" That Baker Mayfield Starts For The Browns If Deshaun Watson Gets Suspended

Listen I'm not here to discredit the great Josina Anderson, but there is a 0.00% chance that Baker Mayfield ever plays for the Cleveland Browns again. Source: my brain.

Could you imagine? Deshaun Watson gets sidelined for 6 games (reduced to 4 of course), and the Browns trot out none other than the hometown hero, Mr. Baker Reagan Mayfield, onto the field in Week 1. Not Jacoby Brissett, the guy we just signed to be the backup, but the former #1 pick that brought the Browns back to relevance, matching the fire of the city with the fire of his personality. Picture it: the Dawg Pound barking, all of Cleveland rallying behind him. The once proclaimed savior of Cleveland leads the boys to a 3-1 start. And then what are we supposed to do.....? Sub in the 5-year $230 million man and toss the fan favorite to the curb, again? The city would revolt. There's no way the Browns let that happen. And NO WAY does Baker Mayfield let that happen. Let us not forget that this is the biggest grudge holder this planet has ever seen. Do we just forget the stare down of Hue Jackson when he went to the Bengals?

You think this guy would really swallow his pride and play for the organization that said they just wanted "an adult at the position"? No chance. Baker Mayfield even showing up to training camp has to be paying +100000 odds. I don't care how much money he'll lose by holding out.

Not. A. Chance.

I'll say this: there is a substantially better chance that Baker Mayfield is suiting up at Cleveland Browns Stadium next year as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers than that of the Cleveland Browns. And that's my biggest fear. I don't know who is going to end up trading for Baker, but I hope it's not in the AFC and I pray to God it's not the archival that finds a way to win year after year. Anywhere but Pittsburgh….
