Tough Day: St. Peter's Gets Eliminated And Less Than 10 Minutes Later A Report Comes Out Saying Shaheen Holloway Is Leaving For Seton Hall

Is this a surprise? Of course not. Shaheen Holloway to Seton Hall was rumored the moment Kevin Willard said it himself.

Holloway was a star at Seton Hall. He obviously just led Saint Peter's to the Elite Eight. Now he's doing the right thing and denying anything about Seton Hall. (h/t ESPN)

When asked a question that alluded to the Seton Hall job in his news conference, Holloway brushed it aside, much as he has done the past two weeks.

"I'm not worried about that right now," he said. "I'm worried about those 15 young men whose hearts are broken and really down. It's my job as their leader to cheer them up, make sure they understand what they did the last two weeks. And like I said, we're going to walk out of here the same way we walked in here, with our head up."

Obviously it's a career, but he's not going to talk about Seton Hall literal minutes after the biggest Cinderella run we ever saw ended. What do you want him to do with this answer? Put on a Seton Hall quarter zip and be like yeah I'm going 20 minutes away and taking over Seton Hall. Thanks for the run Peacocks.

It's a no-brainer move for both sides though. Seton Hall obviously wins the press conference by bringing back one of their greatest players ever. He's a household name now thanks to the run. He also can coach his ass off. This wasn't a one-time thing. For a mid-major, Saint Peter's has been damn good defensively for a long time. He also helped develop guys like KC Ndefo. You can tell players love playing for him simply by the postgame interviews.

I still think my favorite thing about Holloway was him winning the 96 McDonald's Game MVP. Look at these rosters:

Bibby, Cleaves, Stephen Jackson, Jermaine O'Neal, Richard Hamilton, Ed Cota, Tim Thomas and some Kobe fella. Yet it was Holloway who won MVP. I also still can't believe Loren Woods didn't turn into the next Tim Duncan like promised. But Holloway was that dude.

Still mad he got hurt during the run to the Sweet 16.

Now it's all but a lock he takes the job. Sure it's not 'official' but there hasn't even been one other name rumored for the job. It's basically just Holloway.
