Karl-Anthony Towns Just Went For 60 In One Of The Most Dominant Performances Of The Season

OK, what the hell is going on. Is everyone aware of what we've witnessed over the last 10 days? How about 6 seperate 50+ point performances. LeBron did it 2x, then Tatum, then Kyrie, then KD, then KAT. Not to mention Ja's from a few weeks ago too. I know the league has changed. I know that offense has the advantage now, and three point shooting changed everything when it comes to this stuff. But I also know that dropping 50 in an NBA game is not easy. Some might in fact call it rather difficult. It's not exactly something that happens all that often. Most will agree it's still a pretty big deal when someone goes for 50, so imagine when someone goes for 60

KAT showed the world tonight why he's considered the greatest shooting center of all time. This man is a career 39.5% shooter from deep on a solid 4.0 3PA. It's pretty tough to hit 60 unless you make some threes, so a center going 7-11 from deep is rather outrageous. Let's not forget, this is also the 3 Point Shooting Champion

It's also very cool that the guy who has assumed the role of being the next KG for the Wolves owns the franchise scoring record. There have been some pretty good big men to play for the Wolves, so for KAT to hold the top spot for a minute is impressive. Unfortunately, Anthony Edwards could get hot and break this record in their very next game. I guess that's a good problem to have for the Wolves, and maybe that's the more important part of tonight.

At 40-30, you have to feel pretty confident about their chances in the play in. Not only that, but they're just 1.5 behind the Nuggets for a top 6 seed. I'll have you know, DEN/MIN play on April 1st. There's something to be said about carrying this team to the playoffs without Jimmy Butler, something this franchise hasn't been able to do since 2003-04. It's 2022. Plus, the fine people of Minnesota deserve some good shit to happen to their favorite basketball team. Lord knows life has been tough these last few decades. I care about the Apple Valley stoolies. The Wolves are young and fun as shit not to mention actually good. 10 games over .500 is nothing to sneeze at, and as long as they figure out how to defend on a consistent basis they're going to be a tough out.

Because at the end of the day, they can just give the ball to KAT. That seems like a successful strategy if your goal is to score points. We are starting to enter Prime KAT at age 26, and that guy seems pretty terrifying. Guy had 51 through three quarters. Unreal performance for a Wolves team that is fun as hell to watch and who knows could be upset hunting in a few weeks.
