Magomed Ankalaev Beats Thiago Santos In A Pretty Boring Main Event

Never bet against a fighter with the Khabib/Abe Lincoln beard. It ain't smart.

Magomed Ankalaev came into this fight with Thiago Santos a -625 favorite, but to be honest, he didn't really look like one. Most of the first round was spent with Ankalaev and Santos sizing each other up, finding their reach, and Ankalaev landed a couple big shots along the way. In the second, we saw more of the same, but Santos dropped him and had him hurt at the end of the round - probably stealing that one. Ankalaev then controlled him on the feet for the rest of the fight, mixing in some takedowns/grappling late, but overall - we didn't see too much activity from either fighter.

To be honest, it was actually a pretty boring fight. After the night of scraps we got, though, I don't have any complaints.
