This Texas State Pitcher Flashed Possibly the Best Horns Down of All-Time After Taking Down No. 1 Texas

College baseball is so hot in the streets right now. Sure, we won't have MLB games until July 4, but we do have Texas State going on the road and taking down No. 1 Texas and this pitcher going horns down with some gusto after the game-winning strikeout. Find me that kind of passion in a Major League game before September.

Texas has looked as impressive as any team possibly could so far this season. The Longhorns were 12-1 coming into last night, with five wins over Alabama, LSU and Tennessee. They're pretty clearly the best team in the country.

And then little ol' Texas State marches into Austin, puts six runs on the board and strikes out Ivan Melendez — aka the Hispanic Titanic, the greatest nickname in college sports — with the tying runs on base in the 9th and walks out of there with the win. College baseball rocks.

As for the Horns Down gesture, win your in-state midweek games and this isn't an issue. To their credit, I haven't really seen anyone from Texas complaining about this, but I'm sure nobody in Austin is particularly thrilled about it. Don't let Texas State win on your field and it doesn't happen.

I just love college baseball, man. The Bobcats won a Wednesday night game in March and (justifiably) celebrated like they just went up 1-0 in a Super Regional. Moments like that are what it's all about.
