I'm Out Of Breath Just Watching This Ole Miss Runner Score On A Pickoff Throw To First Base

Fundamentals people, this is why you practice fundamentals. Ole Miss and Alcorn State gave us the blooper of the year so far in college baseball. This wasn't even a traditional throw it around the field blooper, the ball never even left the infield, Alcorn State just got put in a pretzel. Their guys all covered the right bases, made the right throws. They just forgot to cover home in the end, that will come back to bite you. Credit to Peyton Chatagnier who was attempting to steal second and decided to not stop running. It was a heads up play all around by him. Noticing that each base just wasn't covered and knew he had the speed to get there. Maybe he was tired of being on base and just wanted to get back into the dugout? It was the ultimate hustle play by Chatagnier. The catcher tried to play hero saving him from going to third, but instead left home wide open. I remember Dustin Pedroia used to do this, somewhere he is watching this clip smiling. It’s even funnier that this was Alcorn’s only run and lost by 15.
