Even More Gas Has Been Thrown On The Fire In The Battle Of Alberta
The Battle of Alberta is one of the best rivalries in sports. Obviously there was that decade where the Edmonton Oilers were one of the worst franchises known to man so nobody really gave a shit about the Oilers vs Flames. But things have really started to heat up over the past few years. And last night there was allegedly even more gas thrown on the fire in Alberta. The variety of which can be silent, but deadly.
That's right, folks. Just an expertly crafted fart joke. Doesn't get much better than that.
Now I hate to throw guys under the bus. One of my least favorite things in the world. But I'm assuming that is Adam Ruzicka who almost took Tyler Toffoli out for the rest of the season with that heater on the bench. Which makes this a quality learning moment for the young man from Slovakia who was playing in just his 23rd career NHL game. This is something that is going to take some experience. Because ripping ass on the bench is one of those moments where you really gotta know your own body. You need to take into consideration what you ate earlier in the day. You need to know if it's one you can get away with and not cause any collateral damage, or one you just have to hold onto until your next shift out on the ice. Tyler Toffoli is a key piece of this Flames roster moving forward, and you can't risk knocking him out for any extended period of time just because you thought Chipotle would be a great pre-game meal. Situational awareness is key to surviving in this league.
The good news is Ruzicka made up for his actions with this assist to Toffoli for his 2nd goal of the night and 7th goal in a Flames uniform this year after getting traded on February 14th.
What an unbelievable trade that was. Flames are a wagon.
P.S. - I love Matthew Tkachuk but I think Evander Kane is a liiiiiiittle out of his weight class. Might want to leave that one for Lucic.
