Jason Robertson Gets Hat Trick In OT Then Sneaks In Quick Power Nap

This kid an absolute stud and hockey fans should get used to hearing his name often for the next several years. Jason Robertson was Dallas's 2nd round pick in 2017 and you wonder how he didn't go til the 39th pick based on what we've seen so far. Last night was his 100th NHL game and to mark the occasion, he scored three of Dallas's four goals including the OTGWG to give him the hat trick. And then celebrated with a little Dead Man's Float action.

Perfect.

Here's all three of his goals.

This one deserves another look.

That gives him 43 goals and 54 assists in his first 100 games. This is from before the game but still puts his impact thus far in perspective.

Some pretty lofty company.

And some more impressive numbers.

He's also putting himself among some franchise greats.

Kirill Kaprizov ran away with the Calder vote last year but Robertson solidified a damn solid case in the second-half of the year and finished second. He's been even better this year. His line with Roope Hintz and the ageless Joe Pavelski is among the most productive trios in the league. And Robertson is a big part why.

Not to mention he's gonna get an absolute bag from the Stars real soon because he's in the last year of his entry-level deal. And they ought to just lock him up for the forseeable and not fuck around. He's 22, future captain material, and the next big superstar in Big D. Give him Brady Tkachuk numbers: 7 years/$57M.

Viktor Arviddson also called game in OT for his hat trick as well, making it the the first day in NHL regular-season history that multiple players scored a hat trick that included an overtime goal.

This season has gifted us with endless highlights and has perhaps the widest field for a Stanley Cup winner in my lifetime. Legit, there are 12-14 teams who, if they won, wouldn't totally surprise anybody. The talent level is the best it's ever been and this is what true parity looks like. And given the endless and always growing crop of young players, it will just continue to get better and keep giving us more Jason Robertsons.
