Severson came so so close to Scott Stevensing the shit out of Jack Hughes. Just a quarter of an inch the other way and we would have had the best moment of the season so far. The toe drag was arousing enough, but if he just left a path of pure carnage behind him? Woah baby.
The really cool news is that the Flyers could have had Patrik Laine but they decided to hang on to guys like Phil Myers (who they eventually traded anyway), Morgan Frost (who they continue to mishandle and have bundled his development to the point where they're still sending him down to the AHL despite this current roster being complete and total dogshit), and Travis Konecny (who hasn't proven that he should be anywhere near untouchable at this point). So yeah. It's easy to see why Patrik Laine can just have fun out there and pull off shit like this. Because every time he laces up a pair of skates, he can be thankful the Flyers were moronic enough to not pull the trigger on that trade.
