After Beating The Lakers (Again), Ty Lue Basically Told The World The Lakers Are Hot Garbage

I said the other day about how when it comes to the Clippers, they pretty much get a pass this year for whatever happens. No Kawhi at any point, Paul George got hurt and might miss the season, Norm Powell got traded to LA and then broke his foot, it's been a bit of a disaster on the health front. Despite that, the Clippers still find themselves in the play in race, sitting in the 8 spot and just 1.5 games behind the Wolves and 2.5 games ahead of their in town rival. Pretty impressive all things considered.

Last night was the 3rd meeting between these two teams, and this is how it's gone for the Lakers

Last night, it was LeBron/Westbrook and everyone else on that sorry roster outside of AD. Playing at home (even though it's technically home for both, but you know what I mean) you would think that would be enough to take care of business right? Wrong. LeBron went 6-18, Westbrook 9-21 and the Lakers collapsed in the fourth quarter 33-24 to drop yet another game. They are now 3-7 in their last 10 which ya know…stinks. As bad as this result may have been, the kill shot came from Ty Lue postgame. What a quote

"We didn't even prepare for them". WOOF. Talk about a fall from grace. I mean the Lakers may be 5 games under .500 as we are about to enter March, but they still have LeBron. Normally teams are a little concerned with him and prepare for it. Talk about different schemes and ideas to defend him, stuff like that. Not the Clippers

Yikes. When the little brother of that city is talking like that after kicking your ass (again), that has to be tough to stomach. You go under all these tweets and you see very insecure and triggered Lakers fans talking about 17-0 rings and shit like that. OK, whatever helps you cope with the fact that THE CLIPPERS are openly clowning you I guess. Not only that, but it's a version of the Clippers that are without essentially all their stars. Again, woof.

There's just something so perfectly disrespectful about Ty Lue flat out saying the Lakers are so terrible the Clippers don't even need to gameplan in order to beat them. It's one thing to think and talk about it privately within your locker room, but to share that with the world? How do you come back from that? You can't. You just have to eat it if you're LeBron or a Lakers fan. Just a wild thing to hear from an NBA head coach and I am all for it. Talk that shit. You win every time they've played this season you can say whatever you what in my opinion. Imagine what would happen if the Clippers actually prepared and game planned for these games?

If things generally stay the way they are in the West, there's a decent chance we could see LA/LAC play each other in the play in. By then who knows, maybe George and Powell are back. Can you imagine a world where the Clippers beat the Lakers to send them into the lottery? That would be outstanding television. To go from being talked about as a title favorite in October to then being sent into the lottery by your in town rival? Man, that'd be nuts.
