Texas Is Officially Back: Tre Mitchell Leaves The Program, His Dad Hops On Twitter And Starts To Insult Chris Beard

Oh, well then. This confirms one thing. Texas is back. You're not truly Texas athletics until there's let down and mayhem. That's what we have going on right now. Texas should have been good this year. You can understand not looking the part early but as transfers all get used to playing with each other they should have gotten better. Instead they just look like a top-25 team that's prime to be upset. This time it's Tre Mitchell's dad. 

Tre Mitchell announced he was leaving the program for personal reasons last week. Now today we see his dad going off about Chris Beard and refusing to play bigs and being inconsistent. Yikes. I don't think Beard is afraid to play bigs. If you want to yell about his offense go ahead. But again, Chris Beard is a fucking good coach. I'll fight that to my grave. I know Tech fans won't be happy with that but he brought Tech to a title game and another Elite Eight. The man can coach. 

At the same time you can say Beard is having a bad year. But shit, all of Texas is. Everyone is inconsistent on that team. I don't blame Beard for messing around with lineups and rotations trying to figure out what works. Call me crazy though if I'm Tre Mitchell I don't want my dad out here fighting this fight publicly. At least not yet. Let the season end. Let you decide what you want to do and then say it. All I know is Texas basketball is at least starting to mimic Texas football. Mayhem and not meeting expectations. Brutal.
