Aaron Rodgers Won His 4th NFL MVP Award And His Acceptance Speech Certainly Sounded Like a Goodbye To Green Bay

No surprise tonight, Aaron Rodgers won his fourth NFL MVP award and second consecutive. Some expected it to be close with Tom Brady and Kupp in the mix, but it really wasn't at the end of the day. Rodgers had the best regular season of anyone in the league and without him the 13 win Packers are probably a 4 win team. It's certainly bitter sweet considering how the season ended against the Niners in the playoffs. Nothing makes sense after that loss.  Another year where a trip to the Super Bowl is somehow denied regardless of how great the regular season looked. Still, 4 MVPs is incredible and shouldn't be overlooked. One away from Peyton for the all-time lead is insanely impressive.

Another thing that shouldn't be overlooked? Rodgers' acceptance speech. If you've followed Rodgers throughout his career there is not a word that comes out of his mouth that doesn't have a purpose, regardless of the situation. Listen to this speech…

Yes he thanked the Packers organization which included Mark Murphy and Brian Gutekunst, two guys he practically wanted dead going into training camp. He even went further with that afterwards during his media availability.

To go from his tirade in training camp to this? Impossible progress if you ask me, but if that wasn't a farewell speech I don't know what is. Thank you for the 17 years? An extensive, heartfelt thank you to LaFleur? My chest is numb? That's fine though, right? I can't feel the left side of my chest, but that's supposed to happen here and there. Oh now my left arm is numb and my feet too. I'm actually just typing all this with my right hand, which is extremely difficult I might add.

I'm getting retirement vibes. Aaron Jones might need to step up his game here.

Someone do something.
