Georgia's New RUNNING BACK Branson Robinson Squats 615 Pounds and Looks Truly Terrifying

Literally the only thing that matters in college football is recruiting. That's it. Ed Orgeron and Gene Chizik won national championships because they got Joe Burrow and Cam Newton to play for them. Georgia won the national title this past season because Kirby Smart gets running backs who squat 600 pounds.

Everyone meet Branson Robinson, a 17-year-old who just signed with UGA and is built like a brick shithouse. He's put up superhuman numbers in the weight room before he's ever spent a day in an SEC strength and conditioning program. I am legitimately terrified of having to watch my school's defense try to tackle this guy for three years. He's going to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger in cleats by 2024.

As to how that frame translates to the field:

I counted seven defenders Robinson either made miss or ran right through on that play. This kid is going to be a problem.

Unfortunately for everyone, Georgia's 2021 season wasn't a fluke or a one-off deal. The Bulldogs had been building towards that for five years and don't look like they'll be taking a step back anytime soon. If you want your school to truly compete for national titles, all you have to do is sign half a dozen five-stars for three or four years in a row and get true freshman running backs who look like they've been competing in Mr. Universe competitions and you're in business.
