The Obi-Wan Kenobi Show Will Premiere May 25th

THERE IT IS! We finally got our release date for Disney's 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' limited-series! As one Star Wars book (of Boba Fett) closes, another one opens. What a time to be a fan of this galaxy far, far away.

While it ain't hitting Disney Plus on May the 4th as many predicted, it's certainly not too far off! Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen will return to their iconic roles of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader on May 25th.

As a child of the prequels, this has been the Star Wars series I've been the most excited for since it was announced, and I really hope we get the first teaser trailer for it on SuperBowl Sunday. Literally just show me Ewan McGregor back in his Jedi robes walking through the desert and end it with the sound effect of Vader breathing and I'll cum myself.

Oh, and while I loved 'The Book of Boba Fett' myself, I definitely agree with some of the complaints about it feeling disjointed at times, and for that reason, I'm especially intrigued to see what a Star Wars show with ONE director looks like. They've never done that before!

For 'Obi-Wan Kenobi', that director is Deborah Chow, who did Chapter 3 of 'The Mandalorian' (the awesome John Wick one) as well as Chapter 7 (the penultimate episode of the first season, where Moff Gideon corners the squad in the bar) - which makes her an amazing choice for this, in my opinion.

There's also been some rumors that hit the web this week that Rupert Friend will be playing the Grand Inquisitor from the cartoons in this series, which would be equal parts insane/amazing to me.

The Inquisitor was a Jedi Temple guard on Coruscant who fell to the Dark Side and was given the task of hunting down any Jedi that survived Order 66 by Darth Vader himself. He's a scary looking mofo….

In his first hunt, he took down Jedi Master Luminara Unduli, who you may know from the prequels….

….and he's fought Kanan, Ezra, and more - he's actually killed in a fight with Kanan later on, as well, but that's a few decades down the line from where 'Obi-Wan' takes place. That leaves plenty of time for a duel with ol' Ben in the desert, and I could totally see Ewan chirping him about having defeated someone with a double-bladed lightsaber before.

Some other predictions I have….

-We will see Obi-Wan fight Black Krrsantan and give him the scar above his eye

-Obi-Wan will pay a visit to his old pal Dexter Jettster

-Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Ahsoka Tano appear on screen together (in a flashback) for the first time ever

-Temuera Morrison plays a Clone Trooper

What are you looking forward to the most about this series?
