Arkansas Fans Surrounding The Arena Entrance When Auburn Showed Up Proves Once Again College Basketball Fucking Rules

The headline should probably read college sports because this happens in football too but we're in basketball season. I love it. This is what makes college sports so different than pro. It's not the easiest to explain, but there's just sort of a different connection to the programs and sitting next to a player in class. Yeah, we typically just cheer for laundry, but it's a different connection. And even as a Kentucky fan it warms my heart to see this in the SEC. It's been no secret that the SEC has made a push to get better in basketball over the last decade or so. Mike Slive made that very public of what he wanted.

We saw this happen with Texas Tech and Chris Beard. We saw Auburn go crazy when Kentucky came to town. Arizona was an unreal environment last Thursday with UCLA there. This is what college sports should be about. Camp out, don't take a test and heckle the shit out of your opponent when they arrive.

Bud Walton is sneaky one of the best home courts in the country too. It doesn't get the respect it deserves mostly due to Arkansas being down until Muss got there. But that place is loud as shit. It's also been a long time coming but we are at an elite level of entertaining coaches in the country. I'm not even talking the Cal's and K's and Izzo's and Self's of the world. I'm talking Muss, Wade, Oats, Underwood, Howard, etc. Guys that haven't been around forever and are embracing being college basketball. We need rivalries. We need these sort of things, especially in February.

Pretty decent slate tonight too! Arkansas/Auburn, UConn/Marquette, Illinois/Purdue, Saint Mary's/Santa Clara, Utah State/Wyoming, Wisconsin/Michigan State, LSU/Texas A&M. An absolutely loaded Tuesday, the way it should be. And yes, Auburn is responding the way they should. Laughing at these fans. God I love this sport.
