Bears Name Matt Eberflus As The Head Coach 24 Hours After Ryan Poles Was Hired

Ryan Poles moving faster than his wedding reception introduction in hiring the Bears. 24 hours after the Bears named a GM they officially have a coach. Reports are that George McCaskey wanted Caldwell, the advisory board wanted Dan Quinn. Poles apparently went his own way and took Eberflus. That is encouraging, I guess. Empowering your chief football guy to hire his own coach. That is a good step. There are rumors that Poles met with Eberflus before he was named so he kind of conducted two interviews with Eberflus. If you want to be encouraged by that I think that is fair. Eberflus also turned down the Texas and chose the Bears. It's nice to be wanted. We will see how it goes.
