Pray For Auburn Because Oscar Tshiebwe Says Kentucky Is Willing To Die To Win Tomorrow

Am I going to take this quote at surface value and assume he's not exaggerating? Hell yes. Why wouldn't I? I need to be fired up tomorrow for the best game on the schedule. It's bullshit that Kentucky has to go to Auburn and there's no return trip. These are the two best teams in the conference. These are two of the current five best teams in the country. Give me a rematch in Rupp. All I know is Oscar is willing to do anything to win.

That's what I want to hear because I'm terrified of this matchup. I'm scared of Bruce Pearl dripping sweat on the court causing a disaster. I'm scared that Jabari Smith is going to look like the No. 1 pick in the country and UK doesn't have a great matchup on him. I'm scared that guys like Wendell Green and KD Johnson who shot under 36% from three are going to launch from 35-feet like they are Jared Harper and Bryce Brown. Yes, because everyone breaks out all the stops to beat Kentucky. Camp outs, white-outs, whatever it is. So it's time to fight fire with Oscar willing to die.

But Oscar is a calming presence. He's been the best transfer in college basketball so far this year. I don't even know if the biggest Kentucky hater can argue that. Dude is out there putting up 16 and 15. It's almost shocking when he doesn't grab 15 rebounds. He lets them go with the multi-guard look which Kentucky desperately, desperately needs to do. So if he's going to instill this in group for tomorrow, so be it. It's what I needed in this moment.

This man is what everyone should like about college basketball. Wasn't working out at WVU. He transfers, stays in school as a junior and takes a massive jump. Dude is just out there working his ass off every single game. So if he's willing then I'll be doing as much as I can in my recliner. The team, the team, the team.
