An Indiana Twitter Account Predicted The Purdue Game Exactly As It Went, Including Rob Phinisee Hitting The Game-Winner

We know what happened. Indiana beat Purdue. We'll get to all that in a second. But how about this tweet from over a day ago:

What the fuck man? It's one thing to say you're not going to lose. It's another thing to predict Rob Phinisee having a legacy game. Dude comes off the bench, drops 20 points, 4 steals and wins the game. Sure. Why not? It's not like he's some unbelievable scorer or anything either. Dude is shooting 31% after tonight from three. He only scored double digit points in two games so far this year. Against Purdue he does all this plus wins the game.

Fucking insane game by Rob, who is from Lafayette, Indiana. All that while Trayce Jackson-Davis is sitting on the bench for nearly the entire game in foul trouble. We'll get to that in a second. But this win was huge for Indiana. They needed it, mostly to stop the losing streak to Purdue. But also they needed that quality win. Up to now their best win home to Ohio State and neutral against Notre Dame. This gives them a signature win. Also think it mattered to Mike Woodson?

Now allow me to nerd out on Purdue for a second since I was talking about it on Twitter. I have concerns about a team that I was incredibly, incredibly high on. Their defense STINKS. It's not good. No other way to put it. Some of it is lineup oriented. You have a giant 7'4" dude who doesn't move great or you have Trevion Williams. Painter hasn't really gone small ball lineup or anything like that and you saw it come again tonight. Late in the game, Trevion Williams got smoked on TJD with a somewhat simple baseline move. Just used his speed against him. Then the game-winner. Sasha went under the screen. You're up 2, know time and situation. You have Edey has help there. Go over the screen, use the baseline as another defender and force the drive. You can't go under there. That's all with the terrible defense throughout the night and really the season.

Offensively, there's not much to complain about since they have the No. 1 offense in the country in KenPom. My only thing is let Jaden Ivey cook more. Purdue gets a little too set oriented and determined to get the ball to Edey in the post. Ivey is your best player. Let him go to work at times and don't be afraid to go smaller so he can drive. At the same time, Ivey can't make the mistake he did the last possession. He took a dribble handoff, used the screen and drove on TJD who stayed in front of him. You had 9 seconds still. Ivey threw up a trash shot that had zero chance. Just baffling for a team that I thought would look the best in the country for a long time.
