A Credible Source (Baker Mayfield Himself) Says That Baker Mayfield Does NOT Have Issues With Kevin Stefanski and Will NOT Be Asking For A Trade

Did Mary Kay Cabot really think she was going to sneak this one by him? Baker is shutting it down for the season with shoulder surgery already scheduled, so he's got nothing but time on his hands. You know my guy is LIVING on Twitter. Adding to his hit list like that weird dude from Billy Madison. So if you're going to write a report about him being upset with the head coach and potentially asking for a trade, you better have your ducks in a row. Because if not, Baker is flaming your ass. He's certainly done it over less.

And I'm sure there are going to be people on the internet that think this is just classic Baker Mayfield. All bark and no bite. Talks too much, on too many commercials, but has no production on the field….especially with the Browns missing the playoffs and his stats in the last two games. BUT, if this isn't a true story, I gotta side with Baker here. If this is really just Mary Kay's opinion, she certainly presented it as fact. Or at least in a way that showed she had some inside knowledge of the situation. She reported that Baker felt Kevin Stefanski was putting him in bad situations, and if they can't get on the same page, Baker Mayfield would consider REQUESTING A TRADE. Truly appalling when I read it. Changed my entire opinion of Baker. I thought he was a fighter, I didn't know he was a blamer. And he certainly doesn't seem to be someone that would request a trade out. So if that's not true, that is an outlandish way to write that story. Because she had the internet spinning in circle. Major media outlets were running with this story like it was fact.

Exhibit A:

Mary Kay Cabot owes Baker Mayfield an apology. And you know who else does? Me.

I would like to go on record as saying that I retract my statement based on new evidence and talking to a more credible source than Mary Kay Cabot. But this breakthrough in the story still doesn't change my opinion on the Baker situation. The Browns still need to try everything imaginable to get Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson to come to Cleveland, and if they can't, they need to give him next year to see if his injury really was the problem this season. No, we should not try and trade him for Kirk Cousins like Mary Kay implied we might do.

Additionally, please God let Mary Kay Cabot respond to Baker's tweet. The season is over. We have nothing to look forward to in Cleveland until Draft Day. I wouldn't mind seeing Baker go scorched Earth on the Cleveland media.
