An Influencer Could Be Facing Jail Time in Turkey For... *GASP*... Posing With a Massive Penis Sculpture
Over the weekend this story came across my desk and it made me stop on a dime in disgust. On one side we have this attractive woman and Turkish influencer in Merve Taşkın. On the other side we have the Turkish government. In the middle we have Amsterdam.
Merve Taşkın was touring around Amsterdam exploring the sights and having herself a good time. She made her way over to a sex museum, which only feels right to explore when in that fine city. While at said sex museum she spotted a massive penis sculpture and being the social media influencer she is, took a picture with the damn thing.

That picture is now scrubbed from her IG along with another snap of her in the red light district. Why you may ask? The country of Turkey sentenced her to FIVE MONTHS IN PRISON for taking pictures with the penis. A GODDAMN PICTURE.
An influencer has been given a five-month suspended sentence for posing alongside a giant penis sculpture in photos from Amsterdam's Sex Museum that were deemed obscene by a Turkish court.
One of the offending images showed Ms Taskin astride a huge penis and in another she stood behind a glass door made to appear like that of a brothel in the city's famous Red Light District. She was arrested on 'obscenity charges' in the the Turkish city of Canakkale three months later and the images have since been purged from her Instagram. (Daily Mail)
Thankfully that prison sentence has been suspended, so she'll avoid jail time for now, but what the fuck are we doing here Turkey? I'm sorry but this happened in Amsterdam? I'm not even sure they have police over there anymore. You can't be getting punished for things you did in Amsterdam. Murder? Fine slap on the cuffs, although I'm not sure what the rules are with that over there these days. All we're doing here is posing and appreciating art. If your home country is trying to put you in jail for that you gotta get outta town as soon as humanly possible. No reason to continue living there if you gotta dance along that kinda tightrope. Take your talents to a better place and live your life how you want to.
