Already Eliminated With Two Games To Play.....Was This The Most Embarrassing Season In Browns History?

Damn, tell us how you really feel, CBS. This is trash coverage. And if this were in a college football game, CBS would be ejected. Because this is TARGETING. And it's ridiculous to think how much and time and effort went into this graphic. OBJ isn't even on the team anymore. That picture of Baker is over a year old. And the last name jersey should be retired. I know Baker has had his struggles and we'll talk about how to move forward, but he's been our QB for 4 years and beat the Steelers on the road in the playoffs......quit showing a picture of a jersey that insinuates we've still cycled through them every single year.

And not only did CBS make a classless post to purposely trigger an entire fanbase on a day in which the Browns didn't even play, they doubled down less than a half hour later.

I demand an apology. No one else gets treated like this. This is bullying and it's over the top. Congrats on the interactions though, CBS.

.....with that being said....

This was the most embarrassing season in Browns history. And we went 0-16 just five years ago.

What an absolute circus it was. More drama than a reality TV show. I would've said in the preseason that we had a better chance of winning the Super Bowl than coming in last in the AFC North, but look at us now. We thought we had a franchise QB, the best coach in the NFL, and the most talented roster and WRs in the league. Now we have a QB controversy, a coach that clearly dropped the ball many times this year, and I don't even know what to say about our WRs. OBJ is gone because his dad posted a YouTube video of all the times Baker didn't throw it to his open son, and he alleged he was doing it on purpose. That's what I'll say. That is how I'll sum it up.

So where do we go from here?

I'll start with this: Kevin Stefanski needs to right the ship. Our defense was a mess, and I think we clearly need a change there. But our play calling was in shambles, too. Call me crazy, but I don't think the fan base would be too upset if we went down running Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt, and D'Ernest Johnson 40x a game. We're upset because we put the ball into our injured QBs hands more often than we should, and it cost us too many games. The fact of the matter is that Baker Mayfield hurt us more than he helped us this year. Lost 6 games by 6 points or less. Meanwhile Baker either was throwing it to the wrong team or to literally no one in the same area code as him. And then we had to watch commercial after commercial on breaks between interceptions.

And now guess where the Browns will be during the playoffs:

And the drama isn't going to end now. Now all eyes will be on how the Browns decide to handle these next two games and more importantly the off-season. Do we shut Baker down and get him surgery ASAP? Do we lose the final two games to help for draft positioning? Do we try and send Big Ben and the division champs off with a loss to finish 9-8? Do we try and trade Baker Mayfield? Do we try and get a big name QB to come to Cleveland? Or do we go back looking for one in the draft?

Cleveland is now eliminated from the playoffs and they're still going to be the #1 topic on these debate shows every single morning. What should the Browns do with Baker Mayfield?

I'll say this: the OBVIOUS answer is if we can get an Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson to come to Cleveland, that's a no-brainer. I find it hard to believe either of them would want to join this circus, however, they would also be joining a roster that is a QB away from being Super Bowl favorites.

My next best answer is to offer Baker Mayfield like $10 to $15 million a year. If he will do that, I'm fine with him being the QB. I do think his injury clearly prohibited him from making accurate throws this year, and for a price like that, I'm good with loading up the talent around him and making another run at this. BUT, if Baker wants a penny more, goodbye. People are saying he might want Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson money. Buddy, don't let the door hit you on the way out. I'd rather roll into 2022 with Case Keenum at QB than Baker Mayfield for $35 million a year.

My two cents is to shut Baker down tonight….play Keenum the next two games….feel out the big name free agent QB situation…and make Baker an offer to keep him but not for a very high price. I don't see how anyone could feel differently.
