Russian World Junior Team Causes Slight Delay On Their Flight Home After Ripping Cigs In The Back Of The Plane, Refusing To Wear Masks, And Getting The Cops To Show Up

You know what? This all falls on the IIHF. I mean what did you expect these kids to do?

I mean first of all, they're Russian. So it's not like they're going to give a shit about any North American laws anyway to begin with. But when the IIHF pulled the rug out from everyone at the 2022 World Juniors, you had to know the kids were just going to go off. No more tournament that all these kids were working towards the whole year? Cool. Time to rip some cigs, get tuned up at the airport and rage the whole way back home to Moscow. It's not their fault the rest of the flight was filled with a bunch of dorks who didn't want to party. It's the IIHF's fault for putting them on a flight back home this early to begin win.

Personally my favorite part is the Russian coach listening to Russian rock at full vol with zero regard for anyone else around him. You know he's got it made right now. The way things were looking, it wouldn't be too out of the picture to see Russia not even medalling at this tournament. Outside of Matvei Michkov, they didn't look great. Could you imagine showing back home in Russia and having to face Putin after not even getting a shot at bronze? He'd be done for. But the tournament got cancelled early so now we'll never know. Big time jackpot for the Russian coaching staff.

Anyways, this is just old time hockey. You don't think that Bobby Orr and the boys were ripping cigs on the way home from games? You don't think Phil Esposito and Bobby Clarke and Marcel Dione were crushing some Marlboro Reds in the back of the plane? Those dudes were gassing darts like they were going out of style. Seems to me like they were just paying tribute to some of the greats who have come before them. That should hold up in a court of law.
