Georgia Blasts Michigan to Set Up an All-SEC Title Game

Five weeks after meeting in Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game, Alabama and Georgia will square off in Indianapolis with the national title on the line. The Bulldogs ran Michigan off the field to the tune of a 34-11 win in the Orange Bowl to advance to the College Football Playoff National Championship, where they'll get a chance to avenge their only loss of the season to the Crimson Tide.

There were questions of how the Dawgs would rebound from a 41-24 dismantling at the hands of Alabama and apparently the answer was by playing as well as they have in every other game this season. The UGA defense played as good of a game as it has all year, which is saying quite a bit for what will go down as one of the greatest defenses in the history of college football. The Wolverines did not reach the end zone until well into garbage time.

In addition to playing for the second time in three games, this will be the second national title game between UGA and Alabama in the last five seasons. You may recall this moment from the first one.

I thought Georgia was going to show the Tide how to play ball in the SEC Championship and Bama wouldn't have even made the Playoff. Obviously, that's not what happened. But if the Dawgs that showed up in Miami make their way to Indianapolis in the same form, I still contend they're the best team in college football.

Both Georgia and Alabama more than took care of business in their semi-final matchups and now we'll get to see the two best teams in college football square off for a second time this season. May the best team win.
