The College Basketball Forfeit Rule Is Turning This Season Into A Damn Disaster

What are we doing here? The forfeit rule was put in place to try and make sure everyone was vaccinated playing college hoops. Well now we're punishing teams that are vaccinated ... and Memphis. In what world does it make sense to make teams forfeit wins/losses that only count in conference record but not to the NCAA Tournament, etc. There's already enough problems with conference standings seeing how most conferences have an unbalanced schedule and teams aren't playing the same teams in conference. Now we're just handing out wins and losses? At some point we need common sense to take over here. 

Look at that tweet from Fanta again. DePaul is 9-1 overall but 0-2 in the Big East. Sure, that makes a ton of sense. Do we see how dumb this ruling is? Literally as I blog this it seems to be happening. 

The goal should always be to reschedule conference games. Will it be easy? Of course not. But when you're talking about teams on the bubble and seeding reasons conference games need to happen. Handing out records when you look and say oh hey DePaul is 9-1 but 0-2 in the Big East, that doesn't make a lick of sense.
