BREAKING: NHL Players Will Not Be Going To The Olympics

What recently felt like an inevitability has now become reality. An anonymous source confirmed to Spittin' Chiclets that NHL players will not be going to the Olympics after all.

Given the risks involved---potential lenghty quarantine in China, a second quarantine in North America, possible loss of pay---it's not a huge surprise even if some guys were planning on going no matter what.

This obviously sucks for hockey fans but it's certainly understandable given the stakes. This should give the league an opportunity to make up some postponed games during the break (not to mention possibly beef up All-Star rosters). 

In the end, the juice just wasn't worth the squeeze.
