33 Year-Old Soccer Superstar Sergio Aguero Is Forced To Retire Due To Heart Condition

The Manchester City record goal-scorer, who moved to Barcelona on a free transfer in the summer, had to be substituted during his team's 1-1 draw with Alaves in October after receiving medical assistance on the pitch to treat chest pains and dizziness.

"It is a very difficult moment. The decision I have made I have taken for my health, that is the main reason, because of the problem that I had a month-and-a-half ago.

"I was in good hands of the medical staff who have done their best and have told me the best thing would be to stop playing.

"So I made that decision about a week ago and I want to tell everyone I did everything possible to have hope, but there wasn't very much."

Absolutely devastating news for everyone who loves soccer and loves sports. Aguerro is one of those guys who was absolutely electric. Didn't matter if you were watching him in the World Cup, the EPL, Champions League, or on your Playstation. Even the little digital version of Kun Aguerro popped on the screen. He gave us probably the most memorable EPL moment of my lifetime

A guy still near the top of his game suddenly can't breathe and has chest pains during a game in October. A man that had been playing and running every day for 30 years and then poof, he's done. Absolutely horrible. It just goes to show that there is nothing more important than your health. Aguero made about $80M in his career and I am sure he'd give it all back for a healthy heart. Just absolutely terrible news. Hopefully Aguero can receive treatment that allows him to have a full and happy life after soccer. Incredible career.
