Mike Vrabel Stormed Out Of His Press Conference After 90 Seconds Because The Media Kept Asking Him About A Player He Didn't Want To Talk About
Ohhhh boy do I love me some fired up Vrabes. He was feeling it on Friday after telling the media that he wouldn't be discussing newly acquired linebacker Zach Cunningham off waivers. Cunningham isn't going to play on Sunday so Vrabel didn't feel the need to discuss him, I think that is reasonable. But for whatever reason the media kept asking him about it. He said a few times he wasn't going to talk about it because he was going to suit up and they'd discuss it next week. Well John Glennon from Sports Illustrated just had to ask Vrabel one more time to see if maybe this time he could get an answer out of him. Shouldn't have done that.
Glennon doesn't even get to finish his question before Vrabel storms off. While he's walking off he says "This is ridiculous. Tell them who's fucking out. This is so stupid, it's a waste of my time, man." before heading inside for a hot meal and a nice shower. A 90 second press conference with 4 or 5 questions is right out of the Bill Belichick playbook too. I mean he did tell them he wasn't going to talk about Cunningham. He's trying to talk about the Titans vs the Jaguars not about Cunningham, he made it clear. Glennon just flew too close to the sun here and Vrabel was out of there. Is it a bit childish? Yeah. Do I blame him for doing it? No. Should the reporters just have dropped it and moved on to questions about the game? Probably. I mean the guy said he wasn't going to talk about him, no need to keep pecking at it, especially with a guy like Vrabel. His team has lost 2 in a row and are teetering here just waiting to get their offensive firepower back, don't put him on edge more than he already is. I love the move by Vrabel, he doesn't have time for dumb questions like this, and if you come at him with that weak stuff he's going to walk out right in your face.
Safe to say Paul Kuharsky wasn't a fan of the way Vrabel asked. Wouldn't mind seeing Vrabes and PK get into the ring for RNR. I hope Vrabel doesn't answer a single Zach Cunningham question next week either and just keeps messing with these guys. I loved the move, thank god Vrabel has a pulse and doesn't just spit out robotic answers like most other NFL coaches.
