Ever Wonder WTF Happened To Von Dutch?

Eddie, Chief, and I have been doing this thing Eddie dubbed "Free Swim" on Wednesdays in Eddie's sick office/recording studio. We shoot the shit about everything from Eddie's love of Russian bathhouses, to Chief's propensity for cooking pork shoulders, to my DJ stories. We've also made it a point to try and watch a different documentary each week and discuss it amongst ourselves.

It's become one of the highlights of my week now. Getting to sit down, across the blackjack table from Red Ed, next to Chief, two of my best buds in the world, and just talk shop.

This past week we wrapped up the 3-part series on Hulu titled "The Curse of Von Dutch: A Brand To Kill For".

Luckily, it was not as lame as the name, or the brand. It was actually pretty well done.

Even Red Ed liked it and he's very hard to please when it comes to these documentaries. (But then again he was the one to suggest it...)

But this one was a great blast from the past. The 2000's, pre-social media explosion were a really wild time. And people forget.

People associate Von Dutch with douchebags nowadays, but there was a period back in the early to mid 2000's where they were one of the hottest brands in the world. And the story of how they got there, and how they lost it all is nuts.
