New Florida Coach Billy Napier Is Recruiting on the Vegas Strip for Some Reason

This is certainly a new one. While most coaches are jetting around the country going on in-home visits leading up to National Signing Day next week, new Florida head coach Billy Napier is recruiting in a traditional college football hotbed: the Las Vegas strip.

I don't necessarily get it other than getting your brand in front of as many eyeballs as possible, but I'm sure there's some sort of reason Napier's face is plastered on the Vegas strip. The interesting recruiting tactic comes just a couple days after Napier told UF fans to "not get consumed with the stars" and said his staff would need to "make some mistakes" in its first class in Gainesville.

Maybe showing up next to the Paris balloon is some sort of play on Napier's trademark moniker, "Scared money don't make money," but other than that, I don't really understand the correlation.

Look, Florida has obviously gotten the better of Tennessee for quite a number of years now, but I could not be more thrilled with UF's choice for its new head coach. This guy has all the weird gimmicks of Butch Jones and talks like Jeremy Pruitt — a fantastic combo to have in your rival's coach.

We'll see if the Gators pull in any kids who live at the Bellagio next week.
