Norway Gifted England The Most Beautiful Christmas Tree These Eyes Have Ever Seen

[Post] - Norway’s annual Christmas tree gift to London provoked unseasonably abrupt responses on Thursday, including demands that the 78-foot Norwegian spruce be replaced after it appeared to be less than symmetrical with some broken branches.

Every year, a tree is felled outside Oslo and sent to London’s Trafalgar Square as an offering of thanks from Norwegians for Britain’s support during World War Two.

Criticism of the tree drew a diplomatic response from Oslo, which underscored the symbolism of the gift and that it originated in a forest.

“I am pleased that people are passionate – it is a sign that Londoners care about the present we have sent them,” Mayor Borgen told Reuters. “The tree comes from a forest.

“This is a love tree and it means a lot to us to give it to Londoners. Though it started as a thank you to the British people for their help during World War Two, it is now as much about friendship, solidarity, hope for the future and peace.

It's a beaut Clark! An absolute beaut. I know the meaning behind it is wonderful and all that, but I need to know how they landed on this tree exactly. People had to be walking around and being like yep, this is it. We'll never find a better looking tree. Look at the response from Oslo too. It comes from a forest. Well, that solves it. Enjoy the tree England and stop complaining. Not like it came from somewhere else, it came from a forest. Good enough excuse for me.

I just wish they didn't change it. Instead they hung some lights on that bastard and made it look decent.

It's been talked about numerous times on this blog before but going to see the tree is so stupid, no matter what city you're in. It's cold out, it looks the same every year. You just look at it and are expected to stay there longer than a minute? It's a waste of time. But if you mix it up by having this sort of tree then you flip the game on its head. Perfect family photo opportunity there too. Not everyone can get a photo in front of this sort of tree. Oh no, everyone wants to go see the perfect tree with the perfect lights. This is what it's all about.

Just go Charlie Brown

The best part is this won't be the worst tree we see this year. Every Christmas season rolls around we see cities put up some half assed tree and people lose their mind. I just personally love that this one was a gift. Now obligatory.
